Light Engineering Training Institute – Ahangama (LETI) is a government-affiliated vocational training institute operating under the Southern Provincial Department of Industrial Development. We provide NVQ and Non-NVQ certified training in welding and light engineering trades, equipping youth with the practical skills demanded by local and international industries — including shipyards, offshore platforms, and manufacturing.
To equip Southern Province youth with globally recognised, hands-on welding and light-engineering skills that open doors to secure local and overseas employment.
Fully equipped welding bays, individual PPE and machinery for every trainee, and a dedicated workshop building located in Hantha Palakuna, Ahangama.
NVQ Level III & IV welding qualifications recognised nationally, with RPL pathways for experienced tradespeople.
A monthly allowance, full machinery and tools, and PPE supplied to every enrolled trainee throughout the program.
Graduates are guided toward employment in shipbuilding, offshore platforms, fabrication and manufacturing.
